Thinking back on the MEP, I remember living with a Hungarian on a houseboat in The Netherlands, dancing traditional folk dance with a Norwegian in Latvia, and having my prejudices challenged when engaging in conversation with a young Russian who – as I found out – thought, cared, and felt just the same as I.
