The students attend an introduction program in their own school on the procedure and work that is performed within the Model European Parliament and the European parliament itself. Students are informed and very well prepared for what they are about to participate in.

The introduction covers everything from debating and argumentative skills, proper Parliament standard writing, dealing with resolution work etc.

The students selected to join the MEP will be assigned a relevant subject that at the time is discussed in the European Parliament and media across the EU. Individually the students seek information from different channels, such as on the internet, from politicians, and articles in newspapers. The students will research and prepare about the specific topics that will be addressed at the international sessions. They will learn about the international as well as the domestic aspects about the specific subject.

By the end of the introduction sessions the students are knowledgeable of the values and opinions of their native country regarding the assigned subjects and are ready to debate and defend them.
